About the Artist
My name is Guðrún Sif Ólafsdóttir, I'm Icelandic, live in Iceland and open to work with any nationality or anywhere in the world.
I lived abroad for four years and traveled for work so I have visited and photographed over 40 destinations around the world. In the past years my main focus has been on Iceland and the Icelandic nature while becoming a mother of two. I’m a travel butterfly by heart and always will be, my mind and creativity thrives when changing environments so I can’t wait to continue my photography in different places and adventures through life.
I just graduated from the Photography School of Iceland (Ljósmyndaskólinn) with emphasis on creative photography in January 2023. That has been great school for me personally and professionally. I made six photo books while at school and that is definitely something I see myself doing more of in the future.
I create my personal artwork from mundane life, my kids, nature, emotions, texture, patterns. I have been really obsessed with Climate Change, Icelandic Glaciers, Flora, Fauna and Insects. I’m currently really obsessed with Water, Light and Colours.
In my commercial work I focus most on capturing the magic in the moments, following an idea from start to finish and have a conversation with clients about style and what the expected outcome is from the photoshoot.
